14th October, 2007 - Welcome to the new Dating Fate website. Make sure you check in regularly to see what's happening!
October / November are shaping as a huge months for the Dating Fate crew.
New Line-Up.
DF launches our new 5-piece rock line-up on October 19, playing an initial corporate gig to chase the cobwebs away and begin a long and fruitful campaign of live shows. The new line-up adds driving bass, sick-as drums and juicy guitar to balance the funky acoustic feel of many of the band’s existing material. The full rock outfit also includes keyboards for added depth, and provides a heap of flexibility to add the dark and light / hard and soft shades that make a great live experience.
EP launch – Ordinary Girl
October also sees the launch of the band’s first recorded works – the Ordinary Girl EP. The disc contains the first 5 songs that have worked so well at acoustic venues around town in the last couple of years. This EP is a stake in the ground – the starting point which captures the original Dating Fate sound, and depicts the foundation upon which a much bigger and more complex artistic expression of modern pop and rock can be built.

Local Tour Dates
November will see the start of a local tour in conjunction with Melbourne stalwart bands The Gems and The Readies. Together the three acts will be working across many of Melbourne’s favourite live venues for original music. These shows will filled with shenanigans, fun, fantastic music (of course) and frivolity.
Come along and support artistic expression in the great city, and help a few musos pay for their next round of drinks !!!

Showcase Gigs
Talks are underway with some of the industry’s leading lights (the ones that aren’t on a looong holiday) regarding the next steps for Dating Fate’s international schedule. November will see a couple of industry show-case gigs which are designed to present the whole Dating Fate value proposition to the commercial dudes who make or break careers in the music industry.
Wish us luck !!! (and buy a signed EP while they are cheap!!!). |
